Dear angels and my higher self: Tonight I’d like to explore the ethical value of patience. It seems that patience is a big lesson for me. I tend to be quite impatient – wanting what I want when I want it and feeling perturbed or agitated if I don’t have it. Can you guide me in gaining more patience and in understanding what patience means to me in my personal growth and expansion?
Yes. Let us consider this ethical value of patience. Patience is a quality of our spirit that works in conjunction with multiple other qualities – values – to guide us in living our lives as spiritual beings. To be a spiritual being, one must be focused upon living at high levels of thought, loving emotion and sensory awareness. These are the three aspects of who we are – mind, loving emotions and spirit senses wrapped in a physical body. To live these three aspects of ourselves in the highest level possible – this is to be spiritual. To be spiritual, we must think spiritual thoughts, feel love in our hearts, demonstrate love in our thoughts, words, and actions, and live the refined sensory self that we are at our core.
Now, the ethical values of our spirit are multiple. Patience is a key value because we must be patient with ourselves as we grow and change. We do not grow and change overnight. We do not grow and change only through sleep. We do not grow and change simply by observing other people’s growth and change, although at times we fool ourselves, lull ourselves into thinking that growth and change are easier than they are. Believe me when I tell you that growth and change is an eternal process, and there is never a moment when we arrive at the totality, the essence, the pinnacle of growth.
Even the Creator is growing and changing. This is the Divine Relationship that you have with the Creator. As you are a child of the Creator, your own growth and change gives pulse and meaning and dimension to the growth and change that the Creator experiences.
Growth and change is the behavior of consciousness. As you live your growth and change, your consciousness expands, and thusly does the consciousness of the Creator expand. There is total integration and unity between you as a seed, a child, an aspect of the Creator, and the Creator himself. The Creator gave you the gift of free will, free choice and free intention so that you, as a creative seed, could grow and change according to your own direction, your own choice and will, your own being.
This is an immense responsibility. And in fact personal responsibility itself is another ethical value that is tied to patience. You have a responsibility to be patient with your growth because growth is who you are as a dynamic energy being. Energy by its very nature must grow and change, otherwise it shrinks in proportion, seven relative to seven into infinity, and with it you devolve.
So to have patience with your growth and change is to understand that your path as an evolving consciousness is a path of trial and error, of experimentation, of joy, of sorrow at times, of systematic observation, and of learning about your freedom as a soul and spirit to become “more” than you are.
In truth, you ARE now all that you will ever be. There is no separation from you and the Creator and the Creative Forces of the Universe save the separation that you perceive as you LIMIT your mind with understandings about your ability to grow and change – your very nature and desire to grow and change.
If you look within and remember some of the little thoughts in your mind throughout your life, you will be aware that each and every expansion that you felt in your life – each change – was the result of a choice that you made to live that change. Believe me when I tell you that each and every aspect of your life is indeed a choice that you made to integrate that aspect into your life. To be born, to live, to suffer disease, to feel peace and joy, to marry, to bear children, to work, to live as you live in each and every moment of living, to divorce, to feel pain, to mutate your cells, to meet those people that you meet, to have every encounter, to see the sky, to feel the earth, to drink, the list is endless. Your every moment of living is your choice because YOU are a divine being that has been given 100% power of creation.
This power of creation was not a simple gift. The Creator deliberated for shall we say a very long time in considering what this gift could mean. The Creator is an all-encompassing energy that also defines who you are, and so you, too, as a thoughtform created by the Creator, had a hand in this decision. You ARE the decision. There is no separation between you and the Creator’s choice to give you the power of creation. This power is the essence of you.
Think of yourself as having begun as an atom. The atom joins forces with other atoms and molecules and cells and organs and bodies and families and cultures and societies and worlds and solar systems and galaxies and universes into the folding of those universes into other universes and spitting them out again into multiple, uncountable other atoms, molecules, and cells and on and on. You are infinite and you are connected to all that is. It is an amazing thought. But it is only because you see yourself as finite that you do not embrace this concept of eternal connection and eternal growth and change.
So as you consider this infinite expansiveness, can you see that patience serves you well, and that patience is indeed a critical value to hold as you give yourself, in total grace and total humility, the credence of growing as you see fit throughout eternity?
We can only be patient when we consider that our life is about us, that our goal as a thoughtform of the Creator living in a physical body is to learn to be all that we are and to accept that we have eternity to do it in. This concept is absolutely amazing and truly awesome.
The Creator gave us the power to be a co-creator and to live our gift of creation forever, as we learn who we are.
So take your time in living life. “Smell the roses.” Appreciate Earth. Appreciate all of creation, because all of creation is an aspect of you, your own self; it defines your being.
Be patient with others because they, too, are in the process of discovering themselves. And each and every action in their life is perfect for them, as each and every aspect of your life is perfect for you.
Be patient especially with those you love. They will feel your love through your patience, through your acceptance of them as divine children.
Be patient with Mother Earth. Your earth is the planet of growth and change that you collectively with the human race have chosen for the home that would nurture you and give you life and strength as you cleanse your mind and expand your mind into the infinite levels of awareness that are readily available to you to live and be within.
Be patient with the Universe, and accept that even though you are limited in your physical travel into the Universe at this time, the Universe itself is aware of your presence and watching you grow and change. You are a fractal pattern of Universal energy. It is the energy of the Universe that gives you life.
Be patient with the people that you come in contact with “on the street.” Each being that you encounter is there for a reason, and the reason is to show you either where you have been, where you are, or where you want to go. Each being has infinite lessons to share with you, and if you look at each being with just the simple question of “what may I learn from you, and how may I return this gift,” then you are growing immensely and you will be rewarded with untold gifts of love and appreciation and bounty and abundance. To receive and to give – these are the energies of the Universe. To feel them is a gift in and of itself.
Be patient, above all, with your mind. Your mind is the greatest jewel you have ever known. Like a diamond that crystallizes in the earth and grows from the blackest of black to the lightest of light, your mind, too, is forever undergoing transmutation. As a soul, you are mind and emotions. But your emotions are already complete. But your mind began as a vessel to be filled. And as you fill your mind with knowledge and wisdom all tempered with love, you transmute your soul into the spirit energy that is your essence. Your life is about the expansion of your mind so that you grow into a conscious awareness of your spirit.
So be patient with this mind expansion. You have eternity to expand. And the joy of this journey is that you are joined with other souls and spirits who are forever by your side, supporting you in your growth and change – in your learning to live your life in newer and more expansive ways, more loving ways. The joy of sharing this journey is the joy of being a soul and spirit walking forever through space and time to be all that you are. It is a magnificent journey, and if you are patient, you will all the more appreciate the nuances of your growth and change, and all the more be joyful in how they manifest.
Your joy, your love, your being are to be celebrated. Grow and change in patience, and understand that your life is truly your own gift to yourself.
